You were on His mind
Your thoughts toward us
outnumber the sand of the sea!
(Psalm 139:17-18)
Before the foundations of the world were made (built)
You were on His mind (and in His heart).
The sparkle, the twinkle,
the gleam in His eyes…
You were the apple of His eye.
He was already planning and preparing,
Your place to be with Him.
To belong to Him and be His child.
The child of His heart, the child of His love…
The child whom He would sacrifice everything for.
To nurture and create from the womb,
And lavish His heart of love upon.
With a watchful eye and a skillful hand,
He tailored and fashioned you with His masterful design.
To know Him uniquely.
Take a deep breath and let everything else fade away for just a moment. Consider this quiet truth: long before you drew your first breath, and in every single second since, you have been completely on God’s mind.
We often get lost in the sheer scale of the universe, feeling small and easily forgotten. Yet, the One who holds the stars also holds you in His thoughts.
God's thoughts toward us are so vast they outnumber the grains of sand upon the shore. Imagine that. Every beach, every desert, every tiny grain of earth—His loving attention toward you outweighs them all.
His mindfulness is active, tender, and deeply personal.
Jesus reminded us that even the very hairs on our head are all numbered.
If the Creator of all things cares enough to count what we deem insignificant,
how much more does He care about the silent burdens of your heart, the unspoken prayers, and the secret joys?
The Lord has been mindful of us, and because He remembers us, He breathes
His blessing and grace into our lives.
His focus never wavers. He does not slumber. He does not forget. Even in the stillness of the night, when you feel most alone, you are being held in the gentle, unchanging thoughts of God. You are, and always have been, on His mind.
Lord, help us to live in the awareness and preciousness of this truth.
Remind us of it morning, noon, and night, —and even in the middle
of the night if need be. Every time hardships strike or sorrow hits us
or when there’s a pause and moment of relief or joy, help us to
remember we are always on Your mind and in Your heart and may
You be in ours all the time too. You are worthy of all the praise, let us
continually be grateful. Let us be mindful of You and all Your goodness.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
