“The heavens are telling of the glory of God”; (Psalm 19:1). Imagine all those wonderful stars shining so brightly on a dark night.
The vastness of the galaxies. The planets in their orbit light years away.
“Heavens” plural.
2 Corinthians 12:2 speaks of Paul being caught up into the third heaven.
Every time man makes a new discovery about the universe it is only a mere
scratch on the surface compared to all that God has made in the heavens.
Yet what we can see and do know is that God is declaring His glory through it.
He is displaying awe and wonder, His majesty - and His love.
God's heart is on full display and if we look closely and carefully we will see Him, we will learn of Him. And of His power and authority.
He is the Ultimate Artist, Creative Master of the Universe, and He draws us in every time we look up.
Up because God is above All; Above all things, and His glory surpasses all things. How can we look around at creation, and up into the heavens, and look at the stars and not see Him? And not see His handiwork, or not know someone bigger than ourselves created and designed it all? It's for sure mankind did not do it. OH, what a “Covering of love” canopies over us! What a “Shelter of protection” that resides over us. Day and night, around the clock 24/7. He sustains it all by the power of His right hand.
“Day to day pouring forth speech, and night to night revealing knowledge.” (v2). They quietly speak volumes, and teach us with unspoken words, revealing knowledge to us. Knowledge of God.
“For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20). We are without excuse. There's a reason we love nature so much, - a divine reason.
“Yet their voice in quiet evidence has gone out through all the earth,
Their words to the end of the world.” (Psalm 19:4a ) “In them He has placed a tent for the sun,
Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber;
It rejoices as a strong man to run his course.
Its rising is from one end of the heavens,
And its circuit to the other end of them;
And there is nothing hidden from its heat.” (Psalm 19:4b-6)
“Have you ever in your life commanded the morning,
And caused the dawn to know its place?” (Job 38:12).
Can we control the Sun? Imagine God's power and love in sustaining everything.
His goodness in the dawn of each new day.
“The Lord is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.” (Psalm 145:9.). “The Lord is righteous in all His ways
And kind in all His deeds.
The Lord is near to all who call upon Him,
To all who call upon Him in truth.” (Psalm 145:17-18).
“He heals the brokenhearted And binds up their wounds.
He counts the number of the stars;
He gives names to all of them.
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.” (Psalm 147:3-5).
What a Wonderful Maker reveals His heart to us. ♥️
