Sitting Next to Jesus: Longing for a Heart-to-Heart Conversation

Have you ever wished you could sit down in person with Jesus and just talk? To listen to His reassuring words, and hear Him say it’s going to be okay and you will be alright. To sit in His presence with Him by your side, and be comforted until everything subsides. To just be held like a child safe in His arms, where fear and worry are no more. The weight of every burden lifted. The sound of His soothing voice and calming presence has melted it all away. There is so much love in His heart and He has an endless amount of time for you. He sees you and listens to your heart. He knows just exactly what you need and He pours His heart of love over you. He knows your thoughts before you think them. He understands them, and He is moved with compassion. You can lay down and rest sheltered from harm, sleep peacefully knowing He will be there with you when you wake up. You don’t have to wrestle anymore.

Imagine what it will be like to hear Him say our name. Like a voice on the telephone we recognize like no other. The way our name sounds when we hear a loved one say it. Looking into His piercing love-filled eyes as He sees all the way into our hearts. Imagine the comfort in just one look. To hear His joy and laughter and see His smile. To witness His beauty and Holiness and bow our knees in honor to Him. To be embraced in His love. Imagine what our hearts will communicate with the unspoken words between Jesus and us. And every tear and sorrow, every burden and care, wiped away by one touch from His hand. Oh, just one moment would be enough and yet we will have all eternity just to be with Him. What kindnesses and goodness we will behold. How beautiful His divine nature will be to look upon. The absence of sorrow in the midst of all joy. And no words to express the healing. The greatest healing of all will be to God’s own heart. The depth and intimacy in each conversation. All our longings to become real. All our hopes and dreams to finally come true. We are home forever and we are loved. We shall live in the presence of love forevermore.

I cannot wait to walk across Heaven with You Jesus. To dance for joy in Your presence, and join with Your people and worship before Your Holy throne.

“Those who blew the trumpets and those who sang together sounded like one person as they praised and thanked the Lord. They sang as others played their trumpets, cymbals, and other instruments. They praised the Lord with this song:

“He is good; His love continues forever.”

(2 Chronicles 5:13). All the praises of God’s people sounded like one voice. Can you imagine this in Heaven? In the midst of an endless sea of believers? It's going to blow our minds!

The closest thing to experiencing this now, would be in a worship service, or at a crusade or concert. Just think there will be musical instruments in Heaven too! How awesome is that!! Every music lover will be eternally blessed with that, myself included. What’s even more amazing is how we will share all of it with the ultimate divine music lover, I can’t wait!
