Though I cannot know… He knows.
“When my spirit was overwhelmed within me,
You knew my path in the way where I walk.”
(Psalm 142:3)
You are “intimately acquainted with all my ways”
(Psalm 139:3).
He is intimately acquainted with our pain and suffering;
with every affliction and sorrow, and every single
tear you and I have cried. He has felt them too.
He is familiar with all your ways; with every struggle,
challenge, and battle you’ve faced or are facing now.
“He knows the way you take.” (Job 23:10)
He’s seen every tear — and saved them.
He’s felt every heartbreak. He knows,
and has known, your every experience.
“You scrutinize my path” (Psalm 139:3). Lord, You know exactly what it has been like.
You know its truest depths better than anyone.
You are the Good Shepherd
who says, “Come to Me,”
who says, “Take my yoke and learn from Me.”
“For I am gentle and humble in heart,
and you will find rest for your souls.”
(Matthew 11:28-29)
“Gentle, humble” yet Mighty…
“Like a shepherd He will tend His flock,
In His arm He will gather the lambs,
and carry them in His bosom;
He will gently lead the nursing ewes.
Who has measured the waters in the hollow of His hand
and marked off the heavens by the span (half cubit)
And calculated (contained or comprehended)
the dust of the earth by the measure,
and weighed the mountains in a balance
and the hills in a pair of scales?”
(Isaiah 40:11-12)
What a portrait of His character…
the gentle tenderness of a shepherd
contrasted with the amazing almighty,
powerful God.
What a beautiful depiction of strength and love,
gentleness and majesty, power and kindness.
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds”
(Psalm 147:3).
Look at the hands you’re placing your heart in…
“He counts the number of the stars;
He gives names to all of them.
Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;
His understanding is infinite.
The Lord supports the afflicted;
He brings down the wicked to the ground.”
(Psalm 147:3-6)
Star-making Creator…
overflowing with strength;
the same One who made you too.
Infinite in understanding? Wow.
Need someone to understand or know?
How many times have we longed for someone to understand?
Imagine now God’s unlimited ability to know and understand,
“to get it,” and all that you and I are feeling.
Imagine someone now whose wisdom is infinitely better than your own.
Think about that for a moment, are we really without? Without comfort or help…
Someone who is gentle enough to comfort and understand,
yet powerful enough to be able to help us; to go with
and before us, and to carry us when we are too weak.
Who knows and understands our frailty and weakness.
He’s seen and been present in all our experiences.
He walks with us in humility; being our covering.
He has felt our deepest sorrow, most crippling turmoil,
pain, and anguish…
What comfort and what hope;
He knows our soul's needs to its deepest depths.
He sees every tear, person, situation, and thing.
He’s carried our sorrows…
He’s chosen to engulf us in His heart, to lavish
His love upon us, and to tenderly heal and mend.
He is before and behind us, closing us in,
securing His unfailing love around us.
What a Savior, what a friend,
what a perfect companion and Savior,
forever faithful to the end.
Creator, Maker, and lover of our soul...
This is the Shepherd who leads and guides you through
each day, today… tomorrow, next week, next year.
This is the One who is with you in every breath you breathe.
“My Presence shall go with you, and I will give you rest.”
(Exodus 33:14)
God promises more than His presence;
He promises His nearness.
Lift your tired, weary head,
your broken heart, and crushed spirit,
your lonely soul, and look up into the tender,
loving eyes of Jesus, the Good Shepherd and the
lover of your soul. Look into the face of God.
“The nearness of God is my good.”
(Psalm 73:28)
He is our Advocate on High,
Our Compassionate High Priest,
And The Lover of Our Souls.
“Cast all your cares on Him.
For He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)
“In my trouble I called to the Lord.
I cried out to my God for help.
From His temple He heard my voice;
my call for help reached His ears.”
(Psalm 18:6)
“Lord, You are loyal to those who are loyal,
and You are good to those who are good.”
(Psalm 18:25)
And what phenomenal loyalty He has to us!!!
“Lord, You give light to my lamp.
My God brightens the darkness around me.”
(Psalm 18:28)
The Lord answered, “I Myself will go with you,
and I will give you victory.” (Exodus 33:14)
“I am with you and will protect you everywhere you go.”
(Genesis 28:15)
“Just as I was with Moses, so I will be with you.
I will not leave you or forget you.” (Joshua 1:5)
“Bless the Lord, O my soul,
And forget none of His benefits.”(Psalm 103)
Today may we count what we have gained in the Lord as greater than our pain, sorrows, and loss, may we remember His loyalty, faithfulness, and willingness
to come to our aid and remain beside us.
May we turn to Him knowing that He knows the absolute depths of our suffering — and may we cast all our cares upon Him today for He cares for us.
