Sometimes the reminders we write for ourselves may end up being the same thing that someone else needs to hear too. If you need a quiet reminder of how God is our true defense, I pray this will speak to your heart like it did mine.

“O Lord my God, in You I have taken refuge;”

— Psalms 7:1

Lord, help me to remember my shelter is in You.

My strength is found in Your strength.

My hope is anchored in You.

Your word is the treasury that holds the greatest gifts.

Your loving arms protect me from wandering.

Your Holy Spirit is my comforter.

And Jesus, You are my best friend who laid down Your life for mine.

How can such worthy things escape my notice so easily?

And the cares of this life drown out the sound of Your voice?

In the stillness I hear You whisper, “I love you.”

Every day You are my refuge.

Every day I am held in Your hands.

Every day of my life was planned.

Every day You keep me and hold me.

Every day Your loving heart guides me.

Your Holy Spirit leads me and Your grace provides for me.

How I long to live in the awareness of You every moment in every hour.

It’s not the passing of time that worries me,

but the thought of my world turning without remembering You in it.

Lord, help me to remember that You are with me in every storm and valley,

and in every high and low.

In the midst of every care or worry,

that You are here with me.

You are my lifeline, Lord, please keep me connected to You.

Fill me with You.

Thank You, Lord for the privilege of abiding in You.

You are my firm foundation,

and Your loving arms forever remain underneath me.

Free my soul to worship You.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
