Personal Reflections: Insights on Spiritual Growth

“For I go to prepare a place for you”

… “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also” John 14: 2b-3 Heaven is comfort when our life has been devastated because of loss; a loss we cannot wrap our minds around. Heaven is hope when the world’s gone crazy, or our health is falling apart. Heaven is God’s promise to love us forever. It's our light for the journey now, through our dark and hard times now. It's our guarantee that our sorrow will end. That our hearts, minds or bodies will not be broken forever. Yet Heaven is so much more. Heaven is the place Jesus has been preparing for us. Jesus – “The man of sorrows and deeply acquainted with grief.” The same one who experienced firsthand the deepest depths of suffering for our sakes, our good and our salvation. Jesus, who knows our own sufferings so well; He has collected every tear, numbered every step, counted every hair; and is intimately acquainted with all our ways. And just as He knows when a sparrow falls, He also sees and knows our own personal journey. Imagine God’s heart in preparing Heaven for a people who’s suffering He knows so well and intimately. Now imagine the things Jesus would have planned and stored up because of that; not only the healing and relief He would desire but also the joy and beauty and ultimate perfection He would have made ready for us and that eternal weight of glory that we will see unfold. Walk alongside me for a moment and allow Him to show you a heart overflowing with such love, generosity and without limit. A love that resonates throughout your entire being, with your deepest need and greatest longing. Pause and behold the incredibly beautiful breathtaking view of God’s heart and Holiness. Explore the storehouse of His kindnesses, goodness’s tender mercies and tireless love, extravagantly providing and faithfully caring for you beyond measure. Consider the goodness of God in making the most perfect home, most wonderful environment -the happiest moments never ending. One beyond our minds view and hearts experience. How in one moment of time everything that is wrong, will all suddenly be made right and brand new again. Imagine meeting the God who sees and watches you & me. Looking into the eyes of love itself; Himself. The perfect person, the safest most wonderful one we could ever meet or know. Someone who would never hurt you. who fills your heart with perfect joy, now imagine never having to be without them ever for all eternity. Imagine. Imagine every day being filled with that. We can let go of our cares, cast our doubts upon Him. He will ease our sorrows and give us relief from the pain.  We can break free from our struggles and look up to heaven. For soon God will be flooding our hearts with His presence and love in Heaven. He shall dry each tear with His tender heart, wrapped in His warm embrace, and held by His nail pierced hand. Every heartache and pain will be erased leaving only joy in its place. We shall each partake of His own tailor-made design for us according to each one of our needs, for we know God sees each one of us individually. Jesus is preparing a place that is perfect for us. We will all be one in heart and mind in our worship of Him. No good thing will be withheld or spared. All our sorrows of today or yesterday will finally all be gone.
