Have you ever felt like someone or something has dropped you into an endless
pit of despair and hopelessness and you are clawing your way to get out of it?
Yet, there seems to be no visible way to begin to make the climb.
Then it occurred to me that maybe it’s because the way out is through the invisible.
The invisible hand of God that reaches down and pulls us out.
Our help comes through the unseen working of God.
We despair when we cannot see it.
We lose hope when we cannot reach out and touch it.
So then we begin to believe it’s not there or real.
Faith is believing in God for what we cannot see,
but that our hearts know deep down is still true.
He will not leave us in that pit.
It’s not an endless pit -God’s
mercy and love are what is endless.
Anything else is a lie from the enemy.
What do we do when our thoughts and
emotions take over and seek to drown us?
We take the territory back by turning our eyes back to Jesus
again. Oh, I know it seems overly simple but please remember
there is power in the name of Jesus. Unlimited power available to us.
So, we cry out to Him to rescue us through it.
We take every thought captive and put to
death every lie that rises up against the truth.
The truth that He is more than willing and able.
That His hand has unlimited reach and there
is no distance or depth it cannot make it to.
That my friend, is genuine hope.
His eyes see you and me and
He knows just exactly what we need.
I know some days the pit seems deeper,
or darker, and the challenges harder.
Colossians reminds us to:
“Keep seeking the things above,
where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God.
Set your mind on the things above,
not on the things that are on earth.”
(Colossians 3:1-2).
I love how this translation says it:
“Now set your sights on the rich treasures and joys of heaven
where he sits beside God in the place of honor and power.
Let heaven fill your thoughts; don’t spend your time worrying
about things down here.” (Colossians 3:1-2 TLB)
These verses are like a hand coming down
from Heaven reaching out to pull us up.
Lord, I pray You will help us to apply this today.
“There is no pit so deep, that God's love is not deeper still.”
― Corrie Ten Boom
Send out Your light and truth.
“O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; Let them bring me to Your holy hill And to Your dwelling places.” (Psalm 43:3)
You are the God who sees…
“I will rejoice and be glad in Your lovingkindness, Because You have seen my affliction; You have known the troubles of my soul,”
(Psalms 31:7)
“Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness,”
(Psalms 33:18)
You will not withhold your compassion from me.
“You, O Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your lovingkindness and Your truth will continually preserve me.”
(Psalm 40:11)
May we embrace David’s anthem,
Sing it in our hearts,
And declare it in our souls today:
“Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why have you become disturbed within me? Hope in God, for I shall again praise Him For the help of His presence.” (Psalm 42:5)
The Lord is near to each one of us.
“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted And saves those who are crushed in spirit.”
(Psalm 34:18)
How great is Your goodness to us…
“How great is Your goodness, Which You have stored up for those who fear You, Which You have wrought for those who take refuge in You, Before the sons of men!” (Psalm 31:19)
“Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days
of my life, And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.”
(Psalm 23:6)
Your grace will help us stand.
“God is able to make all grace abound to you…”
(2 Corinthians 9:8)
“So here’s what I’ve learned through it all:
Leave all your cares and anxieties at the feet of the Lord,
and measureless grace will strengthen you.”
(Psalm 55:22 TPT)
“Grace to you and peace from God
our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus
Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,”
who comforts us in all our affliction so that we will be
able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the
comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
(2 Corinthians 1:2-4)
“He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed.”
(Psalm 107:29)
Praying for God’s power and authority to be with you and
over you today, In the midst of whatever you may be facing.
Grace and peace dear friend, may He envelope you in His
arms of refuge. Here’s a few practical things to keep in mind today:
Remind yourself of God’s faithfulness to you in the past.
“Let us then remember the loving-kindness of the Lord and rehearse His deeds of grace.
Let us open the volume of recollection, which is so richly illuminated with memories of His mercy, and we will soon be happy.” - C.H. Spurgeon
Sometimes, the way out isn't meant to be found alone.
Reach out for help from others, and ask for prayer.
Make use of anything at your disposal;
Turn to God’s resources for help; Hide God’s word in your heart.
Cling to His promises; hold onto to them for dear life.
Wait upon Him and He will make you strong.
Celebrate each small victory along the way.
No matter how slow your progress may seem, keep moving forward. Each step, no matter how small, brings you closer to the light.
Remember, God loves you with an everlasting love.❤️ And know that you are not alone.
May the Lord help each of us to keep our eyes on Jesus; And on Heaven and home today.
